ONE THING

Hey Mama. I see you. Sitting there. Feeling overwhelmed by all that needs to be done.

The house needs to be picked up.

The laundry needs to be done.

The bills need to be paid.

The work emails need to be answered.

The doctors appointments need to be scheduled...and ultimately actually attended...ugh.

You love to love on others so you also tacked those volunteer opportunities on as well....which you're excited about but also kinda dreading...😬

It's not lost on you that on top of all that you also need to homeschool/do homework with the kids and run them to their zillions of activities, return those things to Target that have been sitting in your closet since before Christmas 🤦‍♀️, and still somehow find time to cook a healthy meal, get in some healthy steps, spend some quality time with your kiddos and spouse, chat with that friend who is going through a rough season, and - at some point - FINALLY take a shower this week.

To you I say - JUST. BREATH!

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but no matter how much you hustle or how much grit you possess you will not and cannot zero out that to do list in one day. Honestly, you likely can't even zero it out in the next week, month, or, for some of us, even the next year....but be encouraged my friend. Because though you can't do it ALL you can do SOMETHING!

So today, as you take a quiet moment in the middle of the chaos to quiet your mind, still your soul, and BREATH, I encourage you to say a quick prayer asking for the Lord's wisdom and guidance and then pick ONE thing from that seemingly unending list to tackle and simply do that ONE thing!

Today that ONE THING for you may be finally putting away 'mount laundry' that has been growing on the sofa or it might be pushing aside the to-do list completely and just spending some focused time playing a game or going on a walk with your kids. It doesn't matter what it is but simply be present in tackling that ONE thing! And then, once that's done, pick another one thing and do that. At the end of the day, look back on the one things you accomplished and celebrate every single one!

There will be days and seasons when you will have a long list of "things" to celebrate before heading off to bed and other times your one thing will literally have been ONLY ONE THING. On those days remind yourself that that is ok! Because life is a marathon and not a sprint. You have to pace yourself or you will wear out and burn out long before the race you are running is over. And since I know God has made you 100% wonderfully and uniquely YOU and has a plan and a purpose custom designed for you and you alone, I know how important it is that you are able to run your race and run it strong all the way to that finish line!

So I'm gonna say it again...Breath in. Breath out. Set the list aside and let's tackle (and then CELEBRATE) that ONE thing today! Who's with me?

Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. 2 Thessalonians 3:16
