Throwback time
Do you ever have a song that brings back so many God moments in your life? I grew up in the '80s and '90s. Worship music was something that I not only grew up around, but it was also something I grew up doing. I started playing drums on my Youth Groups Worship team when I was about 13 or 14 years old, so I grew up with bands like (early) Hillsong, some of you know what I'm talking about, songs like "Shout to the Lord," "By Your Side," "Emmanuel, to name a few. Early Gateway, Kieth Green, Rich Mullins, and so many more great artists. But none of them influenced me the same way as Delirious did. To me, they were on a whole different level. Those songs spoke to me and still do to this day. I love the "Cutting Edge" album. There are so many powerful songs on that album, and it's one that I always come back to when I'm sitting quietly in my alone time with the Lord. They're the first songs I want to play when I pick up my guitar. They're songs that have walked me through many highs and lows throughout my life. They're not just songs; they're prayers and anthems that have moved me and, at times, kept me still. This song might be the most overplayed worship song during the '90s, but for me, it will forever have an impact on my life. It will forever be the song that helped center me at times when I was distracted. The song that broke me and awakened new passions and dreams. The song that humbled me and kept me at the feet of Jesus calling me deeper. Church in the '90s had some very interesting moments, but for me, they were some of the most powerful moments of my life.
Lyrics:
Find me in the River Find me on my knees I've walked against the water Now I'm waiting if you please We've longed to see the roses But never felt the thorns And bought our pretty crowns But never paid the price Find me in the River Find me there Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare Even though you're gone And I'm cracked and dry Find me in the River I'm waiting here Find me in the River Find me on my knees I've walked against the water Now I'm waiting if you please We didn't count on suffering We didn't count on pain But if there are blessings in the valley Then in the River I will wait
Find me in the River Find me there Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare Even though you're gone And I'm cracked and dry Find me in the River I'm waiting here Find me in the river Find me there Find me on my knees with my soul laid bare Even though you're gone And I'm cracked and dry Find me in the river I'm waiting here for you
